Don't mention them to me Evil or Very Mad
Calli

Went and tried a nice Czech warmblood, very green 6 year old. Discussed it on the way home with the very experienced person who is helping me find a horse (she tried it and liked it as well). Called the people selling the horse that evening as agreed. Told them " yes I definately wanted it and would they like a deposit " No they didn't need a deposit if I was having it within the couple of weeks. All agreed. Called me the next night to say they had sold it to someone else. That's the short version Mad
The search continues....................
Calli

tell me about it - all I want is a hunter hack Sad

Debbie's right Calli no picture posted as I haven't even got one yet. I've only got him on video and goodness knows how I would transfer that onto the computer. If he passes the vetting I will make sure that I get a photo on here asap, hopefully before saturday as I won't have access to my computer for two weeks (looking after the stable for two weeks) Very Happy
Calli

How about a detailed desciption Laughing

Must work on PP again - I 'll miss the whole summer at this rate Confused
petal

Ok 16.2hh, Belgium warmblood, gelding, 4 years old, bay, white blaze, white stockings on back legs, a bit of a cross between stocking and sock on one front leg and a sock on the other.
Lovely temperament, nosy when you are in the stable with him. Not done much schooling but lots of hacking and recently started affiliated jumping with Damian Charles (not that I will be doing any affiliated jumping....total coward, not even convinced that I'll do any unaffiliated). pale
So a bit green in the school , gets a bit forward going sometimes but quite responsive. Drifts to the left a fair amount when cantering on the right rein.
Oh and did I mention he's gorgeous. Very Happy
I'm going to be so gutted if he doesn't pass on Wednesday so keep everything crossed.
Calli

Oh Petal - he sounds perfect. Very Happy
No serious schooling problems so a nice blank canvas and you can work together.

Fingers crossed for Wednesday Very Happy Very Happy
petal

Just got to get that vetting out of the way. You know how many times it goes wrong at that stage Sad
Calli

Petal - its Thursday!!!! Come on let us know Laughing
debbie

I don't think Petal will mind if I let you know that he passed Laughing Laughing Think she may be a bit busy over the next few hours putting beds down etc but I bet it won't be long (maybe tonight if I know her) before some photos are posted here Wink
Gribbie

That's great news Very Happy
Calli

Fantastic - I bet she is soooo excited.... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
debbie

Oh yes and he arrives tonight!

Just tried to phone her and she cut me off so that probably means she is unloading him as we speak Laughing Laughing Laughing
Calli

ooooh. horsey excitement by proxy Very Happy Very Happy
petal

Ok Calli especially for you

I really don't know what I'm doing wrong with photobucket but it wont let me resize my photos. Once I download them they go to avatar size Rolling Eyes So you may need to get a magnifying glass out

Hang on, I've worked it out. I'll try again
petal

Oh that's better Embarassed
Gribbie

Very nice Very Happy

Not jealous, not jealous, not jealous - honest!
Calli

Petal how lovely!!!

I bet you have been in his stable every ten minutes!!!

Thats it - off to horse trader Very Happy
petal

At the stables at about 6.45 this morning to lunge and muck out before work. Shocked
Rode him in the school for about 20 - 30 minutes tonight and then went for a hack. The canter was rather forward in the school ( hey we can work on that, he is only 4) . Didn't put a foot wrong on the hack. Let's see what happens after the honeymoon period Laughing
Won't be able to post for the next two weeks, Debbie will let you all know if I break anything Confused
Gribbie

I'm glad he's behaving for you. Have fun Very Happy
debbie

Just to let you know Petal and her new boy, Dom, are getting on well. Tming has been perfect actually because Petal is doing her two week stint as manager of the large local livery yard where she lives so she is around him all day and he already knows mum is.
Gribbie

It's great she's able to spend time with him so they get to know each other.
petal

Hi, I'm back from my duties, happy but exhausted.
Domi is a sweetheart, even though he nearly bucked me off today. Shocked Not enough work I'm sure.
Even though I have been living at the stables it has been difficult to spend any real quality time with him because of the workload. Lots of little snogs each time I went past him though.
It's back to my proper job tomorrow which is full time unfortunately, so I'm really looking forward to my day off.
Even though I have had a bit of a problem in the school today I'm not too concerned as he hacks out beautifully. There's plenty of time and help to get the schooling straight. Remind me of this statement next year if I'm still having problems Laughing
Domi enjoying the sunshine Very Happy
debbie

He looks lovelly Petal. Can't wait to meet him in person but it will be a good few months yet I think. Simon says he has a really sweat nature even if he does suck his ties Wink
Calli

Hows he getting on Petal - I love that last photo, he so reminds me of My old boy - my daughter just said 'is that Joe ?'

Hope you have as many good times together as we did Very Happy
petal

Hi Calli, he's gorgeous. A bit cheeky sometimes and I've had a couple of occassions when we have had a bit of bucking when I ask for canter, but a fair amount of that was my fault Embarassed. We're getting to know each other. He hacks out beautifully and is so well behaved, he has a spook on the odd occassion but has had to lead the older horses past scary things on more than one hack Laughing I hope we are going to have many happy years together. My friend is probably going to take him out affiliated jumping just as soon as eveything is organised. Will keep you updated. Very Happy
Gribbie

He sounds great Very Happy
petal

He is gorgeous Gribbie, and I say that even after hitting the deck on Saturday. Confused He did a big spook and I ended up on the floor, my back hit first closely followed by my head. Embarassed He's not usually spooky but we think there may have been a fox in the bushes outside the school. It's been a few years since I've done that. You forget how much it hurts and for how many days afterwards. Laughing
Gribbie

Yes - I broke my arm a couple of years ago - lovely little fall, thought I'd landed nicely but when I tried to get up my arm didn't follow - I'd managed to smashed my humerus into 3 bits Rolling Eyes
petal

Ooh that sounds nasty. I got off very lightly then, just been popping the painkillers this week Laughing
Gribbie

I did smart a bit but I got a helicopter ride Laughing I hope you're well on the mend and he's stopped seeing monsters.
petal

I've done it again Embarassed Laughing Embarassed This time going for a hack. A pheasant flew up in front of him, so fair enough. Managed to sit that one and just as I was about to get myself organised the horses in the field came dashing over to see what was happening. Another spook and a bit of bucking because of them and it's time to hit the deck Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes hey ho that's babies for you.
Calli

OOh happy times - I would do it all again tomorrow. It takes time to work out a relationship with your horse - it will get to the stage where you will anticipate his reaction before he does Very Happy
Gribbie

Oops - the one I ride is getting on for 20 and has seen just about everything but still won't walk through a puddle Rolling Eyes
Calli

Because you never know just how deep a puddle is Wink
Gribbie

And if it's got crocs in it Rolling Eyes
petal

Ah now. My boy loves puddles, especially when he is in the lunge ring and supposed to be working. Why walk round a puddle when you can trot or canter through it Laughing
