Just before we retired from farming we decided to start a small mobile catering business, selling our own lamb hot in a bun and other products at shows and events.
After a few outings it developed and we now make all our own sausages, chicken burgers, beef burgers and do our own butchery, using BRITISH products and to a high standard- everything we sell we eat ourselves at home!!
Our latest project was to refurbish a Fish & Chip van, we gutted the interior except for the frying range and have completely renewed the interior to our requirements. We actually catered for two beaters day lunches earlier this year with the menu as follows
Home made Beef & Mushroom or Chicken & Veg pie or Fish with chips, roast potatoes, peas, mushy peas.
Cheesecakes or home made Apple Crumble with cream or custard
Tea and coffee
We are inspected by the Environmental Health Officer regularly, we hold the necessary Food Hygiene Certificates,Employee,Public and Product Liability Insurance cover etc.

GOOD for you - what a welcome change to all the catering vans selling their substandard fodder and cardboard chips and extortionate prices.
Well done you - wish there were more like you. |

Thanks.
To be fair the prices charged reflect the cost involved in getting on site-Badminton for instance we reckon is just not on for us- but at the same time we have proved people dont mind paying for good food and drink. They object strongly, and so do I when I go to a show, of being ripped off with poor quality food at exorbitant prices. At a recent show where I helped man a stand I saw most throw away half their food once the edge of hunger had been met-the burgers were foul!
